This vegan thing!!

Scour the news for an entirely uninteresting story. Consider how it connects to your life. Write about that.

I have been contemplating you see… too many influencing friends who have been advocating veganism and /or vegetarianism to me. Why eat dairy? Why eat meat? Then I see this story!

With this news item, my faith in my usual diet is restored. I like the way I am- a vegetarian throughout the week with chicken and fish appearing on my plate only on weekends

  1. I understand your dilemma. It’s essential to find a balanced approach that suits your lifestyle and dietary preferences. This uninteresting news about diet choices might reaffirm your belief in your current eating habits. Remember, it’s okay to make choices that work best for you, as long as you maintain a healthy and balanced diet. Embrace what feels right for you!

  2. I’m sure her death was due to something else.

Otherwise vegan diet is very nourishing, however it’s not for everyone.
We should eat what we can enjoy. Rather than following some random diet.

  3. I’ve been a vegetarian for 30 years. It (apparently) agrees with my constitution. However, it may not be for everyone. What IS good for every body is eating nutritious food. Fresh food. In season. I’ve always paid attention to the adage “Which carrot? Grown where?” I’d add “Grown how?” Without chemicals and non-GMO is my ticket. I also take supplements – especially B12 which I recently discovered is lacking in a veg/vegan’s diet.

My boyfriend is not a veg and I cook for both of us. Wild-caught fish. Chickens that are fed a non-GMO diet. Cows that eat grass – as opposed to corn, which their systems cannot digest without them becoming sick. (Yep, that means you’re eating diseased beef.) You get the picture.

Also, exercise is so important. Being happy. Being thankful. You get the picture.

  4. Some diet topics in the news are misleading. That influencer reportedly ate “fruits, sunflower seed sprouts, fruit smoothies and juices.” That will make you deficient. She was more of a fruitarian vegan.

Eating a variety of whole foods should not make you deficient. Greens can give you zinc and calcium. I may need to increase my greens intake. Grains can give someone some good nutrients as well. A whole foods plant based approach would be to eat fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, and starches.
