Going to the beach

Tell us about the last thing you got excited about.

This is  a response to the WP Daily prompt,  so recounting for your reading pleasure.

Although I am a mountain- person, fate has put me in a coastal town. But again, the city doesn’t live by the coast line here, so it’s almost an excursion to drive up to the beach.

An opportunity to go out with no social obligations to tend to, no shopping lists  and no existential errands to run is almost a luxury for me, no wonder I got excited!

I packed a picnic bag , with all that would want to be of use, finding their way in. Dressed up with utmost care, keeping the torrid monsoons,  rough seas and vagrant crabs in mind, I made all necessary preps and then headed off.

The day remained overcast, the sea appeared rough, the beach was almost reclaimed by the sea, and there were red flags and no entry to the beach…

My visit however got rewarded by a hearty cup of coffee at the wayside cafe right there …

  1. The sound so familiar… with cherished visuals surging from my memory sealed tight to hold forever ❤ The trips to the airport to the city always ensured this add on experience of the beach & the coffee at the ICH (I think it was an ICH) across the street ❤ it’s just not the beach I guess… nor the soothing laps of cool water rushing towards you… it’s the beautiful people we had around and the bonds of love that set the scenes perfect ❤
