Papa

Describe a man who has positively impacted your life.

As all daughters usually do, I too idolize my father and continue to do so, till date.

While growing up, it was his reticence and calm nature that made a great impact on me.

“Speak only when spoken to” was a living phrase in him; he spoke  less, thought more and probably never lost his cool ( I can’t recall him with a furious countenance in  any of my reveries)…

Frugal eating, simple living and kind words for all, Papa left an indelible impression on my young, impressionable mind. Not that I appreciated all of it all the time, the rebellious teenager in me , at times got swayed by pop culture too… But it was my dear Pop who finally won, as his living by example is what I feel, has rubbed off on me too. Slowly and gradually, I have slipped into his way of thinking and existence with a peppering upon of, some of my own thoughts and ideas too.

Now, in his sunset years ( May God bless him with good health) he still embodies the same principles he spent living by : his eight plus decades on this beautiful planet.
