The luck of skin and bones…?

😀 I can give an arm or leg to have a handsome guy waiting it out with me, (whatever we are waiting for, a ticket or a burger!) Why just blame it on men! A thing of beauty is a joy forever n the snaking long queue becomes a breeze if it’s a pretty person( gender is your choice 😁) at the counter/ ahead or after you, ain’t it?

I read somewhere that “A beautiful face is simply the luck of skin and bones” and agree 200% with it. At times, if you look at the siblings of the superstars, you simply can’t stop wondering at the tricks that nature can play…Just one of them with superstar looks while the rest are soo commonplace…

We in India have a thing for beauty! From the conventional Vedic era kind of beauties to the modern sassy avatars on the ramp these days, we love them all. Miss India contest year on year has evolved into a pageant of a kind where the beautiful need not be bold but have to be intelligent 🧠

Sharp minded engineers, doctors, lawyers and bureaucrats have started contesting for this coveted title, n why not! With a population of nearly 1.4billion, India has a beauty n brains combo almost at every corner, some recognized but most of them just a face in the crowd!

Since the first Miss World from India Ms Reita Faria( 1966) to all our recent line-up of beauties like Sushmita Sen, Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra (nee Mrs Nick Jonas), Manushi Chhillar, Harnaaz Sandhu( Miss Universe 2021) and the bevy of beautiful girls winning the coveted crowns in India, Asia Pacific, Miss World and Miss Universe, have proved it time and again that brains are necessary with the luck of skin and bones!

We swear by our beauties and daughters are named after them 😀…They launch a thousand films ( not the proverbial ships anymore) and have dresses, hairstyles and what not named after them.A local travel agency in my home town names all his buses after the Miss Indias!

We just chose our beauties this week n wish them all the luck in the international arena.
