If you may, do re-invent.

“I’m not happening” was her lament as my dear friend complained of her Horlicks-y life. What would she be wanting? What can she be lacking?

This brings me to the question of Boredom. Why do we feel stuck up in life? A great job, a good family life, and absolutely “no problems “.We discussed over and over again and finally pinpointed the ‘NO PROBLEM’ as the culprit.

Many of us in this generation have achieved it all much too soon. Most of the ‘doing well ‘kinds have the wherewithal to have a comfortable life by the time they reach the mid-thirties. By now, the needs and ‘must haves’ are already seen to.”Now what ?”is a question the well heeled, well settled young turk ends up asking time and again as he/she returns to the home pad every evening to an all taken care of home and hearth.

Time to re-invent a new you. By that I don’t mean that you flush down your IDs! Its time to take up what you were not made for. Pursue your handicaps. At least as a serious hobby or pastime if not a profession. You always had two left foot? Hid behind others on the dance floor at a birthday party or wedding? Go, enroll yourself in a serious dance class and pick up Waltz or Chachacha! Yes,go for proper Kayaking training if deep water bodies gave you the jitters. That’s not all. If speaking in public fills you with unknown pressures and fears, join a debating club. You may not become a fist toting politician overnight, but the stage fright surely will get on the back foot. Cook something foreign, in your kitchen if the ladle had never been so attractive and beckoned you to the kitchen before. If these are still not stir worthy, go infatuate yourself or fall in love. The adrenalin and the otherh’ what not ‘ hormones are bound to give you something to look forward to… at least for sometime.

But you do need to pick yourself up and walk that extra mile to get over the ‘Now What’ syndrome.Remember, it is always fun to surprise the naysayers!!and come out smiling.
