I send prayers…

This fortnight has been emotionally testing for most of us in my country as the second wave of the Covid Pandemic has decided to ravage and roar… Someone or the other from amongst us, or connected to us in some way has been afflicted. We hear stories of hapless family members running pillar to post for life saving drugs and oxygen and life support…We are mute spectators in this orgy of illness and dismal human behaviour- games of greed people play even when their fellow brethren are facing death, to hoard and black market life saving drugs for financial gains which may benefit or not benefit them at all if they too become the victims of the killer virus.Ironically, there is no stopping this abject greed even in the face of death…

Amidst it all, news pours in regularly, almost daily- of losses of lives, of passing away of known faces, dear relatives and even those neighbours and colleagues who came my way once upon a time but managed to touch our lives…Some dear faces, endearing people, bread winners and apples of the eye of many families, all have gone. Some left us for want of breath, some for Remdisivir and some only for want of proper medical attention. It has only pushed me to pray stronger and more for that healing touch from the Almighty.

The vaccines are a ray of hope but can’t revoke the ravages wreaked on us so far. Masks, social distancing and proper sanitization of extremities may or may not save us, the vaccines may fail, but the power of prayers should not. After all, that is what brings the ever proud and boisterous human being to his knees and extend his arms beseechingly up towards God.For most of us these days, this means feeling waves of emotions, ups and downs, anxiety, stress, tension and most palpably, fear. I lovingly send prayers for all, May God take us through these trying times without much heartbreak and may He choose to heal all.

… in heartfelt remembrance of my sister in law Vandana and friend and old colleague Vijay and his father and many others who touched my life and departed 🙏🏻

  1. My prayers are with ur near & dear ones.

This second wave is more crippling than last one. And onus is on the people to understand it’s severity.

People must not get fooled by political rhetorics rather learn to protect themselves.

Indian healthcare structure can’t take burden on 135 cr population with haldly 2% annual budget. It’s high time, people rise up and start voting on healthcare issues (like in UK) rather on caste/religion.

Politicians and Beaurocrats will get beds in hospital in any pandemic, but common man like u and me won’t.

And trust me, it’s gonna be long and arduous summer.

  3. Mausi I don’t have much to say, I pray for the peace of all the departed souls and I pray for the well being of all those fighting this deadly disease. One thing I would like to mention is the fact that the days I spent fighting covid-19 has filled me with gratitude; I really couldn’t do much at that point of time still there were people fighting for me and many more like me. I guess this pandemic has united us all everyday where I get to know of people passing away I also hear the story courage, hope, empathy and humanity and that’s what’s makes me believe that ” This too shall pass”. Of course, there were best wishes and prayers from all over.
